The Bank is engaged in general commercial and retail banking principally in Nash, Edgecombe, Wilson, Wake, Onslow, and Carteret Counties of North Carolina, operating under the banking laws of North Carolina and the rules and regulations of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (the "FDIC") and the North Carolina Commissioner of Banks. The Company undergoes periodic examinations by those regulatory authorities.

The Bank’s focus is on serving the commercial business needs of small-to-medium sized operating and manufacturing businesses, professional service organizations, medical practices, law firms and real estate and development companies. The Bank generally provides personal loans to those individuals with whom the Bank has pre-existing commercial relationships and individuals within its market area.
